New Jersey-based VoIP service provider has taken another major leap in its efforts to offer its highly rated services throughout the country by adding 165 rate centers to its coverage area.

The additions, which cover some 20 separate area codes, means VoicePulse can offer local telephone numbers for the first time in the tech-heavy San Francisco Bay Area, including San Francisco, San Jose, Oakland and the entire Silicon Valley.

The expansion also allows VoicePulse to offer local numbers in four new states – Colorado, Ohio, Oregon and Washington. The addition brings VoicePulse service to 33 US states and the District of Columbia, covering more than 150 area codes.

The addition of the Bay Area’s 415, 408 and 650 area codes, where broadband internet reach is high, is certain to significantly increase VoicePulse’s customer base.

VoicePulse is a private company and does not disclose the number of customers it serves.

As part of the expansion, VoicePulse has added a POP (Point of Presence) in the city of San Francisco, bringing the total number of locations where the company has installed vital switches to eight.

According to Ravi Sakaria, VoicePulse’s CEO, the addition of a West Coast POP was an important step in the company’s reach into California and the Pacific Northwest

“It allows us to improve service by dynamically routing it efficiently through the switch with the lowest level of latency from the customer premise,” Sakaria said.
