Default Re: Five CommuniGate Pro 5.1 Upgrade Tips

Tip six is to wait for the release of 5.1.1, due out in a few days. 5.1.1 should also add https support to Pronto.

See below for more:

Disappearing settings:

The problem appears when your hit Update on any page in the
Settings->General
section of the WebAdmin Interface - UNLESS you are doing a fresh install (no License Key) and thus you have accepted the License Agreement.

If you have not seen that page, the bogus LicenseAccepted date is stored in the Main.settings file on each update (a bug).

This bogus value does not cause any problem - until you try to restart the server. Only then the Main.settings file is read, and this bogus value makes the entire file unreadable, so you "loose" everything stored in it - your License Keys, your Helper settings, etc.

Workaround #1: do not restart your CGatePro server :-) Workaround #2: if you have to restart it, open the Main.Settings file and remove the
LicenseAccepted = #T1900xxxxx;
line (including the closing semicolon ';').

This will be fixed, of course, in 5.1.1. We are verry sorry for all troubles this bug has caused :-(

....

Sincerely,
Vladimir
