This is interesting but in my experience still to complicated for the average enterprise to handle. What is needed is an ASP model to add voice recognition applications to any ATA or IP PBX via SIP redirect. There is an existing ASP model out there with the Phonegnome and Tell Me Dial Tone 2.0 application but unfortunately this model is limited to using a Sipura 3000 and is also limited in features. I would like to hear from anyone interested in setting up such a service.

Nice summary of Voxeo and what we do. I'm the aforementioned CEO of Voxeo. One thing about the "fleamarkets.com" site. I did run into a site for an online flea market back in the mid 90's, and I did think it was a really dumb idea that would flop faster than internet dog food sales.

That site was not named fleamarkets.com, however. It was ebay.com.

Obviously my intuition was wrong, and that failed prediction is a key example of why Voxeo doesn't second-guess what applications or services will succed. We leave that up to our partners and developers, who understand their specific markets and opportunities way better than we can.

Or put another way: Innovation works best when it's decentralized.

FYI, the "flea market" origin is where the eBay name comes from. Originally as a vendor you received an "electronic bay" in an "electronic flea market" to sell your goods from.
