Cisco Technology has announced it is discontinuing its small business oriented SPA9000 Voice System, and announced a more powerful — albeit more expensive — all-in-one networking and communications replacement.

The UC320, announced today with a suggested retail price of $1,000 adds significant punch to that offered by the SPA9000, which sold for $350 since it was introduced in 2006.

The SPA9000 supported up to 16 phone extensions and sported a 100 base-t ethernet connection. With the addition of a $250 SPA400, the device supported up to 4 FXO lines. Cisco discontinued the SPA400 in October.

The new UC320W, supports up to 24 extensions includes a GigE ethernet adaptor, four LAN ports and built-in support for 4 FXO lines, and can support up to two piggybacked SPA8800 with 4 FXO and 4 FXS ports each.

Though announced today, the UC320w is already for sale and discounted to $716.
